Sushi Heaven in Carmel

Carmel's favorite location for sushi! A relaxed comfortable restaurant with an outdoor patio! As is often said, when it comes to Sushi, pick the most popular restaurant because the fish is always fresh. Skilled practitioners, friendly place!

Well I use to live in the bay area and there are a lot of excellent sushi places. I have to say my experience was this was some excellent and very fresh sushi. The best I have had in a long time. Very happy to have found this little nugget of gold. I definitely will go back.

Nice, family owned restaurant. Sushi is good. Katsu is nice and tender. Not too much breading.

Love it! The cucumber salad is amazing. We also like Lion King roll and Red Dragon roll.

I could eat sushi every single day! I have been to lots of restaurants, and this one did not disappoint. The restaurant is small, but cozy. The fish was fresh, their menu selection was on point, and everything was reasonable priced! The service was fantastic, and there was adequate street parking out front in this very cute little town.

Not good... the sushi rice was tasteless, the tuna's texture was poor. Too much sweet sauce over the special roll which made it impossible to taste the fish itself.

Had the chefs selection and everything was absolutely delicious!!! Service was also excellent.

The worst sushi I've ever had in my life! I went there after reading the raving review but I was shocked with the quality of the sushi. We ordered four types of sushi, only the ones with fried shrimps and baked salmon were acceptable. My salmon sashimi had two bones sticking out that were obvious to see the minute the waitress put the plate down. I actually didn't have high expectations because I knew it's mainly for tourists, however, if you had sushi at other decent places before, you will not want to dine here.

Good for eat in or take out. Unpretentious, not cheap but excellent quality for price and friendly, efficient service.

Really fresh and well presented sushi. I recommend Crunch roll, Dragon, and Lion King. If I am in this area again I will certainly stop by here again!

I made the mistake of not having sushi here, but chicken teriyaki instead. It was very thin and rubbery. I won't make that mistake here again. The sushi however is one of our favorites.

Sushi Heaven was amazing! We sat at the sushi bar and the chef was wonderful. He was very entertaining and answered any questions we had. The spicy salmon roll was the best sushi I have ever had in my entire life. The assorted chef's choice nagiri and jumanji roll were also wonderful! If you're in Carmel you need to go here!

Fantastic sushi. I've tried a lot of different sushi places in the area, and Sushi Heaven is far and away the best. I'd highly recommend their Lion King roll.

Rolls very small rice is a bit wet almost soggy.... fish is low average grade. Service is rushed. Prices are low, but rolls are very small some are half rolls. No I would not return.

Fresh sushi and friendly staff. Lunch specials. There is outdoor seating, although is limited. Has a clean restroom and sushi bar.

They offer a vast range of fresh food. I loved eating here. Employees are always nice, prices are fair and the place is always well organised.

My family has started eating here quite regularly over the past year as a quick place to enjoy sushi after activities in Carmel. The sushi is very good, but the table service could be better.

An incredible restaurant I have been going to with my family for 17 years since I was a baby. Food is always great and servers are kind and attentive.

Food was decent. However, the service was disappointing as our food took about 40 minutes to arrive. The oyako don and beef sukiyaki had very little meat in them (for the price). The vegetable udon and chirashi don had a decent amount of ingredients. And there was a suggested tip of 18% of the bill...

The menu and service were ahead of my expectations. We really enjoyed the ambience of this place. Awesome place to take the family out for dinner.

Sushi was good but udon could be better. Their udon soup is not really based on katsuobushi. Their miso soup is on the point. Service was good.

This place offers fantastic service and delicious meals. One of the best spot around here. The food and drinks came out rapidly and the prices are inexpensive. Will definitely recommend this place.

Simple small restaurant with fresh food and nice people. We are locals and visit them regularly. I love their Tongkatsu that is fried pork and it's taste just like my mom used to make in Europe.

Food was good, nice variety of options. People are nice but as servers they are very forgetful and not proactive about bringing things or clearing off the table as empty plates pile up. Just go with patience and it is enjoyable.

Excellent fish and lovely service.

This place is very small and can get a little busy, but the workers move fast and service is great! My husband and I came at night and were seated quickly. We ordered the lion king maki, philidelphia maki, grand slam, and dragon maki. The sushi was delicious, especially the lion king roll. The salmon on top was cooked so perfectly, it came out so well! My only issue was that the prices are a little high, while the rolls were somewhat smaller than most sushi restaurants I've been too. Otherwise the sushi was delicious and service was great! The employees are always looking around in case a customer needs anything. Great place!

We came here excited to try the local sushi spot everyone raves about. Even while looking at the menu outside, people walking by highly recommended Sushi Heaven, but we were not so lucky. It was very busy, accepting take out only because of COVID but it was clearly unorganized. We put our order in and were told it would be ~20 minutes. People who ordered after us got their orders first but we stayed patient. Finally, after almost an hour we asked where our food was and they said it was almost done but they started scrambling. They helped a gentleman in line behind us who was a clearly a regular, completely skipping us. We finally got our food with no apology and once we opened it, all the food was luke warm. More than understanding when a business is busy but it was really disappointing to wait so long, be skipped over, and then have luke warm food. Unsure if we’ll return and give this place a second try

The best sushi in the area! Friendly staff and usually don't have to wait very long! This is my new sushi go to place!

Despite seeing many advertisements in store and plenty of celebrity pictures, the food was disappointing. Not worth the advertised price. Bathroom was nice but there's only one. Lol I would have passed and went somewhere else to else if I knew.

Not Carmel chic so don't complain about decor. Just outstanding sushi and attentive service.
